With the fall foliage comes the emergence of day turning to night quickly. Some may even wake up before sunrise and retire well after sundown. The winter solstice alerts our bodies and senses that it is time to hibernate. So there is a slowdown that sometimes lasts longer than the Winter solstice, and you are the individuals whose attention I call on today!
This winter, I want you to do something different and feel something different! Here are 5 surefire ways to help you navigate the winter blues!
START YOUR MORNING WITH MEDITATION & GENTLE MOVEMENT
When you awake, it's important to allow some stillness before moving. First and foremost, you should give the Most High or whomever you pray to your thanks and gratitude for two minutes.
Listen to a grounding or water meditation for 5- 10 minutes before your feet hit the ground, it will help to set the tone for your day.
Once you come out of your meditation, slowly stand and move your body to awaken the energy in you ie. Stretch your arms to the sky and release, if you can balance lift one knee to the sky and lift your arms, hold for a breath or two, and release. Switch sides & repeat.
Now take a moment and look out the window, smile, and start your day!

TAP BACK INTO YOUR CREATIVITY, YOUR INNER CHILD & SACRAL CHAKRA WILL THANK YOU
What pastime activity once brought you joy? Revisit it!
No past-time hobby? What better time to create one than now? Sign up for a cooking class, knitting, painting, or surfing class lol but you get the point. Winter is the best time to get reacquainted with yourself, and rediscover all of YOUR needs and wants. Just don't forget to come up for air once you re-ignite that creative passion within you.
GET OUTSIDE - WALK, WALK, WALK
Cabin fever sets in regularly during the winter months, so it's important to get outside and walk.
Visit a mall, museum, park, or beach (if you live nearby) and walk!
Create a walking group so that you look forward to socializing and exercising.
CREATE A SELF CARE & GRATITUDE JOURNAL
a. Start off with a weekly calendar and for seven days plan out how you will pamper yourself daily. What does that look like for you? Next give gratitude both upon waking and upon going to sleep, journal it, speak it aloud, whatever your heart calls for, just make sure to give thanks daily and often!
